Compliance - Everything that is justice

There is probably no area that is so heavily regulated by the European Union as lighting with artificial light.
Starting with Commission Regulation (EC) No. 244/2009 of March 18, 2009, known as the "Incandescent Lamp Ban", through Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No. 874/2012 of July 12, 2012, which regulates energy consumption labeling of lamps and luminaires, until Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1194/2012 of December 12, 2012, which, among other things, specifies the requirements for LED lamps, there is an almost unmanageable number of prescriptions on lamps and luminaires. They are also regularly updated and supplemented by the European Union.
In addition, there are other legal regulations that also concern lamps and luminaires, such as the low-voltage directive, which specifies the requirements for the safety of electrical equipment, the RoHSII directive, which prohibits or at least limits the use of certain environmentally harmful substances, or the Waste Equipment Directive, which contains guidelines for the environmentally friendly disposal of used electrical or electronic equipment
All these regulations must be complied with if a manufacturer, importer or dealer offers lamps or luminaires on the European Union market under his company name.
Based on a profound knowledge of the legal situation for lamps and luminaires and many years of experience in this area, LIGHTSERVICES offers interested companies comprehensive help with the legally compliant design of products and the preparation of the required product documentation.
